Showcase of Stars Family members deliver the budding actors and actresses to the green rooms, peruse the art exhibits located in the Great Hall, then settle into their seats as the local middle school jazz band evokes memories with tunes from days of yore. The houselights dim, introductions are made, and suddenly the stage seems
to burst at the seams with exuberant students and music. Since inception,
Showcase of Stars has entertained its audiences as only a show of
kindergartners through high school seniors can. It tugs heart strings, it
makes folks laugh, it makes toes tap, and it is a chance for public school
music teachers and their students to showcase the superb talent we have here
in The audience is comprised of parents, brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, cousins, teachers, principals, and friends of public education. At no other time have so many come together in support of public education. Proceeds from the Progress Energy Showcase of Stars will benefit
the Johnston County Education Foundation. The Johnston County Education
Foundation utilizes the proceeds from Showcase of Stars to enhance public
